Don’t miss this Sunday at Zion

What’s happening at Zion this Sunday, April 3?

Lots!!

First of all there is Worship at 10:00 a.m. Jane’s sermon this week is called “Jesus Exits Stage Left.” She will focus on the story of Jesus healing the blind man. Come and hear a new spin on an old story! Also, during worship we will have the joy of baptizing Jonathan Burk, son of Cathy Burk. And we will welcome into the congregation a new member, Sandy Morris. Following worship there will be a cookie and coffee reception to celebrate both the baptism and our newest member!

And don’t miss Adult Sunday School at 9:00 a.m. If you love history, art, architecture, or theology—you will love the class this week. The Adult class will be watching the Ken Burns PBS special The Shakers. It is a compelling documentary about the religious group throughout its 200 year history. The film has wonderful photography and narrative—come at 9:00 a.m. to see part 1. We will show part 2 on April 10.

But before you go to class, stop by the kitchen for Breakfast at Zion. Starting at 8:45 a.m. we will have a breakfast ready for you. An egg and cheese casserole, fruit, coffee, and juice. Load up a plate and join the adult class in the library!

What about kids at Zion this Sunday? You definitely want to bring all the kids in your family and neighborhood to church and church school. The children’s sermon will be on “friendship” and Pastor Jane will show a short video clip about two very good friends—an orangutan and a dog. Don’t let your kids miss it!

At 3:00 Sunday afternoon the ONA group will show a documentary called “For the Bible Tells Me So.” We will serve snacks and have a discussion afterward.

Whew! A busy, fulfilling day at Zion UCC! Don’t stay home…come to church!!
